DavidD is an Australian artist based in Darwin that paints in semi-realism. She dabbles in other styles in both traditional and digital. Through multiple mediums her ideas are brought to life, such as through water colour, acrylic, pencil, multimedia, and procreate. She is very prideful of her Chinese-Filipino heritage and incorporates elements from that into her work.

This medium is one of my main forms of creation. I took painting lessons since 2020 where my teacher taught me many painting techniques. I start with a light sketch and then I am straight in with my paints. With my acrylic paintings, I love to incorporate bright colours.
My main use of pencils is for when I design characters in my sketchbook. I also like to use pencils on my watercolour paintings for extra detailing.
When I use water colour I am often inspired by Chinese traditional paintings to create beautiful, elegant works of art.
On procreate I am able to easily render artworks and design many types of art. I use this medium to create my comics.
I like to draw on paper and add other elements digitally, I find it adds extra dimension to my work. I often look to find different ways of expressing myself by painting and drawing on surfaces other than just a canvas or piece of paper.
My favourite concepts and themes are related to my identity, my friends and family, animals, all sorts of creatures, mythology, the environment and the characters that I create.
